Yoga XTC embodies a collaborative approach towards a balanced exercise mentality. Our clients came to us with the hope to design a holistic space that spatially focused on their concept of Balance. Wanting to push the notion that harmony and high intensity exercise went hand in hand and were as important as one another. We worked along side the client to ensure they were left with a space that reflected this belief.
We decided to use contrasting bold colours to mirror the two spaces. Soft pastels, white painted brick, light timber floors and white wash plywood panels largely made up the materiality of the yoga space. We wanted to make reference to our sense of touch as humans and worked Moroccan clay tiles into the overall scheme. This was specifically to entice the end users' sensory experience as they walked barefoot along the raw finish with the attempt to connect them with the earth.
We paid homage to a modern day Harem with an overall experiential proposition, custom designing screens and engaging with a graffiti artist to handpaint feature murals throughout the space. Our tiles were specified from TILES OF EZRA and made to order from Morocco. Everything throughout the space was consciously designed with specific intent and purpose on achieving one thing; the end-user experience and how one felt as they moved through the space, how the colours, lighting, sounds and vibrance affected their mood and their spirit.
